Give The Girl Space

There's a big banner of the Mona Lisa posted outside of the Louvre. After four years of work on a separate space for the beautiful "La Joconde," by LĂ©onard de Vinci, she will have her own room at the Louvre. Apparently, this new space will make it easier to view the Mona Lisa for the millions of people who come to the Louvre each year. So if you visit the Louvre on or after April 6, check out her new digs.

That is nice they are giving her space. My SIL said when she went to see her, it took a while of waiting to walk past.(she must have been there on a busy day)

Silent Cal, That made me laugh. Thank you. I actually took the picture because the banner looked pretty, but obviously, it was too dark. The outcome was a bit of a surprise. My husband told me it was kind of arty-- a statement I don't hear often.
BM, Every time I've been to the Louvre there has been a long line, but it does move pretty fast. I'm not sure how they will organize visitors in the new room. I'll let you know when I find out.

it's manic where she is at the moment.... you get hearded in with 'rope walk' as you approach and then its a free for all!

I can't imagine how they are going to arrange it because with her being so small if she has a room to herself it will be a very barren room.

I like the piccy by the way...

if you like the louvre... Although I know with you living there this is probably pointless, you can view the collected works on the website...

See databases!
